The stars of an upcoming BBC reality TV series which follows the life of influencers in and around Glasgow have spoken about how they deal with the dark side of the industry.
The Agency: Unfiltered, focuses on the work of Aquarius Creative, Scotland’s largest influencer industry which is based in Uddingston as they introduce us to a group of young women on their roster who make a living by creating content for social media.
While the rose-tinted world portrayed on screen makes for fun viewing, Aquarius founders Kirsten Cameron and Amy Moore are well aware of the dangers of sharing your life so openly online.

Amy said: “There is a lot more to our work than people think and we’re hoping that the show will change that.
“As influencer managers, it’s not just a case of doing admin for the girls, you’re almost acting as a mentor in their life sometimes.
“You can feel like their mum or their best friend because we’re the people that speak to them every day no matter what is going on.”

In their role as ‘mentors’ the pair are committed to making sure their influencers, including the likes of Abbie Blyth, Molly McFarlane and Megan Welsh feel fully supported while working a job that is far from a regular 9 to 5.
Kirsten said: “We’re always here for them no matter what comes up, like if things were getting too much or they were getting negative comments.
“Thankfully, we’ve not had a lot of that and I think that’s because the girls we work with are quite authentic and down to earth which shines through on their Instagram.”
Amy added: “If the girls ever do have a down day, we’ll make sure to say to them to come into the office and have a chat about it.
“Sometimes it can be quite lonely in our jobs because it's all online so we try to let them know that they can always come in and speak to us.
“We’re on Whatsapp 24/7, no matter what comes up or what time it is.”
The Agency: Unfiltered will be broadcast at 10pm on Monday, February 13 on BBC Scotland.
