UPDATE: Pensioner dies after busy north Glasgow road crash
A traffic incident in Glasgow sparked an emergency services response last night leaving a stretch of road shut for hours.
Shortly after 6.50pm, a Traffcom update advised that Balmore Road in the north of the city had been closed at the junction of Ashgill Road and Hillend Road.
A large police presence is understood to have remained in place as officers carried out their investigations late into the night.
It has been reported that ambulance crews were also in attendance.
At around 6.50am today, it was confirmed that Balmore Road had reopened.
The nature of the 'incident' remains unknown at this time.
