A person has died after being 'hit by a train' in Uddingston this morning.
The Glasgow Times previously reported that ScotRail services were facing disruption due to an incident between Glasgow Central and Bellshill.
A statement shared by ScotRail on Twitter read: "Sadly, a person has been hit by a train between Glasgow Central and Bellshill.
"We are working closely with emergency services during this time and will keep you updated."
British Transport Police have since confirmed that a person has died as a result of the incident.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the line in Uddingston at 11.14am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal."
