Glasgow supermarket staff were forced to hide steaks from customers due to a spate of thefts, it has been claimed.
It is believed that the Co-op store in Battlefield in the city's Southside resorted to the extraordinary measure after a spate of thefts.
One visitor claimed that steaks had been removed from the shelves and are only brought to customers if they ask for one.

They told the Scottish Sun: “My local Co-op has taken steaks off the shelf because they keep getting nicked.
“If you want a steak you have to ask at the counter and the checkout man brings them in a tray from the back of the shop.
“They are waiting for a delivery of security tags before they put them out again.”
A spokesperson for Co-op, said: “This was a temporary, isolated action taken by the store locally and is not a UK-wide policy.”
