EMERGENCY services raced to respond to reports of a 'person in the water' in Cambuslang this morning.
The alarm was raised shortly before 9am with police helicopters and water rescue units called to the River Road area to assist.
The missing person has now been found and is said to be "safe and well".
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.49am on Monday, February 27 to reports of a person in the water near River Road, Cambuslang.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and two water rescue units to the scene.
“Upon arrival firefighters worked to assist emergency service partners with the search for a missing person who has now been located as safe and well.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
