A foodie festival dubbed the Gastro-Glasto is returning to Rouken Glen Park this summer.

A huge star-studded lineup has today been announced for this year's event which will take place from Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 13.

Celebrity chefs including Gary Maclean, Jimmy Lee and Julie Lin will take to the stage for live cooking demos while musicians like Scouting for Girls and Callum Beattie are set to soundtrack the weekend.

Beattie said: “I’m delighted to be back with my Foodies family this Summer.

"Great food AND great music, what's not to love?” 

New to this year's festival will be a Top TV Chef Challenge which will see winners of shows like MasterChef, The Great British Menu and the Great British Bake Off battle it out live for the top spot.

Children are welcome to grab a slice of the action too with a Kids Cookery School where they will make a gourmet dish that they will be able to take home.

Last year's Foodies Festival will be the subject of a 30-minute BBC Scotland documentary which airs this evening.
