Stewart pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr Roberts to his injury and attempted robbery.

Sheriff Mark O'Hanlon ordered Stewart to do 225 hours of unpaid work and put him under supervision for two years.

The kitchen porter was also slapped with a tag keeping him indoors between 12am and 6am for 12 weeks.

The court heard Mr Roberts "did not know" Stewart when he was confronted by him.

Mr Roberts had been visiting a friend there that day.
