The first phase of a new £42.5 million leisure centre is complete with customers set to come through its doors next week.
The Allander Leisure Centre in Bearsden is on track to welcome customers on Monday following an investment from East Dunbartonshire Council.
The sports dome will be composed of two new football pitches, a tennis court and a 25m, eight-lane swimming pool and is set to be completed in the autumn.

Jim Neill, the Chair of the East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust, said: “I'm delighted to say that phase one is nearly complete and excitement is building as we look forward to welcoming our first customers.”
The facility will replace the old Allander centre and includes a 100-station gym, a sauna and steam room, high and low-intensity studios, an eight-court games hall, two squash courts and a café.
They are also introducing a support centre for adults with learning disabilities, with adjustments such as a ‘pool pod’ allowing wheelchair users and those with mobility issues access to the pool.
Sensory and physiotherapy treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, quiet spaces and dance halls catering to adults with learning disabilities will be open from March 9.

The centre is located off Milngavie Road in Bearsden, G61, 3DF.
