VIEWERS have said they are 'gutted' to see a popular soap take a break from our screens.
River City is currently off-air while more episodes can be filmed, the Scottish Sun is reporting.
New episodes will be aired in May.
Fans of the soap were disappointed by the news that the programme was not showing during its usual Monday night BBC One slot.

One said: "Gutted. What will I watch on a Monday night now."
While another commented: "Why do they need such a long break? That’s crazy."
A source told the Scottish Sun: "After a dramatic start to the year, River City took a break to accommodate some changes to the production schedule.
"Changes won’t be noticeable on screen, it’s just to allow the team to get filming banked."
A BBC spokesperson said: "River City is currently on a break for now.
"The cast will be back to film some new episodes which will air on BBC Scotland and BBC One in May.
"In the meantime, you can catch up with the action on BBC iPlayer."
