THE name of the city's newest bridge has been revealed.
Students at St Martin's Primary School in North Glasgow put forward a number of different names before voting on the winner.
Dozens of suggestions were whittled down to a shortlist which included the Sighthill Bridge, the Bridge of Hope, the Rusty Bridge, and the Gateway Bridge.
Now, Glasgow City Council has revealed that the pupils, along with the local community, have officially dubbed the new landmark Sighthill Bridge.
The Sighthill Bridge, funded through the Glasgow City Region City Deal, sits over the M8 connecting Sighthill and the city centre.
The new cyclist, pedestrian and wheeler bridge is made of weathering steel to lower maintenance costs.
In a video posted to the council's Facebook page, Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren called it the "newest iconic bridge in Glasgow".

She said: "I'm here today with the children of a local school who actually, during the process of naming the bridge, are the young people who named the bridge the Sighthill Bridge.
"This is the first garden bridge on this island and we're super excited to see it opening.
"It's absolutely incredible."
The bridge is set to open "in the coming weeks".
