A NEW health-focused lunch spot is open in East Kilbride.
Sprout on St James Avenue is the newest concept from Alex Riches, promising to sway customers away from 'grease or grim packaged sandwiches'.
The new eatery offers custom and pre-made salad bowls with options like chilli glazed chicken, Barbacoa tuna, and grilled halloumi.
Prices range from £4.50 to £8 with customers able to pick between small or large and custom or set bowls.

Sprout also offers smoothies, hot and cold drinks and fresh soups.
Alex is hoping the new takeaway will inspire people to eat healthily and skip service station or greasy spoon meals.
He said: "This is something genuinely new and different.
"We wanted to bring a really special offering to the area.
"With such a limited range of healthy and nutritious food options in the area, we felt Sprout could really help residents to local workers to passing motorists grab a quick lunch anytime without resorting to grease or grim packaged sandwiches.
"We're just off the motorway so even if you're just passing by, come in and see us.
"We guarantee we will give you a tastier lunch than a service station or greasy spoon cafe."
He added: "It's important to us to operate in the right way. We focus on sustainability, local produce, recycling, and trying to make the planet healthier as well as our customers' bodies.
"This is about helping people be healthier but still enjoy incredibly tasty, filling food.
"It was vital to keep prices reasonable too. It's so hard to eat good food without breaking the bank right now.
"We really hope we can help with that."

The restaurant offers a 10% blue light discount for emergency and NHS workers "in honour" of nearby Hairmyres.
Alex said: "We want to say a small thank you for the amazing work so many people do for us all every single day, especially in the light of the current pay situation and desperate strikes NHS workers have been forced into."
Sprout is open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 5pm.
