People Just Do Nothing star Allan Mustafa and fellow foodies Kieran Cavanagh and Marcus Adams visited Glasgow this week to test out top restaurants.
The trio, which is known on their hit Instagram account as the Taste Cadets, have made a name for themselves by travelling around the world and testing out some of the best food around.
The Taste Cadets were in town to speak at Destination Scotland: The Power of Food Tourism, a conference at the SEC on Wednesday, March 8.
Arriving on Tuesday, the trio travelled to Dumbarton to test out The Big Taquero taco truck at Unit 23 skate park.
The food truck, which first opened in January, serves up a variety of Mexican specialities like tacos and taquitos.
Menu highlights include taquitos with chipotle chicken and jalapeño cream cheese and fried tacos served with a house-made beef consommé.
Next, they headed to popular Finnieston eatery Ox and Finch to test out their small plates like stone bass carpaccio described as a “stained glass window of fish”.
The next day, they visited the iconic Mother India in Finnieston for lunch.
Mustafa said: “Glasgow is where chicken tikka masala was invented, was born, nothing to do with India.
“So, we thought we might as well try some chicken tikka masala and some pakoras as well.”
After finishing a healthy selection of curries, pakoras, and naans, Mustafa said: “Now that was amazing, cause you can't spell Glasgow without curry.”
Ahead of dinner at one of the UK’s top restaurants, Celentano’s, they went to Macduff, a meat wholesaler that supplies the restaurant.
Celentano's, located at the Cathedral House Hotel, is known for its fresh ingredients and seasonal menu.
On Thursday, they visited the University Café on Byres Road, a Glasgow institution that first opened in 1918.
After starting their meal off with a crisp can of Irn Bru, the Taste Cadets tucked into a proper Scottish breakfast, deep-fried haggis and a deep-fried Mars bar.
To finish off their food tour, the boys headed to the Loon Fung on Sauchiehall Street for a full spread of Cantonese Dim Sum.
