A thug struck a man on the buttocks with a machete after arguing with his brother.
Ian Jones, 23, lashed out at Vincent Horan in Glasgow's Wellhouse on September 2 2021.
The city's sheriff court heard Mr Horan heard his brother in a verbal dispute with Jones in the street.
Mr Horan confronted Jones while in possession of a golf club.
A "heated argument" then took place between the pair.
Jones then went back to his home before returning to the scene with a machete.
Prosecutor Carrie Stevens said: "Jones struck Mr Horan on the bottom with the machete and it started to bleed.
"Jones then left the scene."
Police received three calls meantime - one from an off-duty officer who witnessed the incident.
The officer told colleagues that one had a metal pole while the other had a machete.
Police traced Mr Horan to his sister's house while still in possession of the golf club.
He stated that he had been stabbed and was left with a small wound on his left buttock which required stiches.
Jones meantime handed himself in.
He pleaded guilty on Friday to assaulting Mr Horan to his injury.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Iain Fleming.
He said: "This is a serious matter and I need to consider custody."
Jones was granted bail meantime.
