A MAN has died after his car collided with a lorry on the M8 near Newhouse.
The incident happened at around 1.50am this morning (March 25) when a Toyota Yaris was involved in a collision with a stationary Iveco lorry on the westbound carriageway near to junction six.
Emergency services attended but the 19-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic Scotland reports the M8 westbound carriageway was closed between junctions five and six from around 2.20am until 10.10am this morning.
An investigation into the crash is now underway and police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
Sergeant Craig McDonald from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Motherwell said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this difficult time.
"Our investigation into the crash is continuing and I would appeal to any witnesses to contact us.
"I would also appeal to anyone driving on the M8 here around this time, who has dash-cam footage to come forward.
"Information can be passed to officers through 101 quoting incident number 0354 of March 25."
