The search for missing Evan Reid intensifies as police carry out large-scale questioning over his disappearance.
Officers stopped and spoke to around 150 drivers and pedestrians in the Paisley location where Evan was last spotted about a week ago.
People travelling in the Inchinnan Road area between 9.30pm and 11.15pm on Saturday, April 1 were stopped by the force in a bid to trace the 31-year-old.
The road checks were carried out in addition to ongoing land and water searches in the area.
The last confirmed sighting of Evan is on CCTV footage on Inchinnan Road at 10.06pm on Saturday, March 25.
We reported earlier today that Evan's family shared on social media that they were 'haunted and consumed' by his disappearance.
Evan is described as being around 5ft 8in and of slim build. When last seen he was wearing a khaki green jumper, a black body warmer, dark blue jeans and grey trainers.
Chief Inspector William Graham, Renfrewshire Area Commander, said: “On Saturday evening exactly one week on from the last known place we believe Evan was, we carried out a road check, speaking to drivers and appealing for any further information.
"During this check we spoke with almost 150 people and I would like to thank the public for their continued support with this enquiry.
“Whilst we assess all information from the public, I would continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen Evan since 10pm on Saturday, March 25, and we have not already spoken with you, please get in touch.
“Specialist and local officers continue to carry out land and water searches close to Inchinnan Road, near the River Cart, and our enquiries are ongoing.”
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Police Scotland by calling 101, quoting reference number 4112 of Saturday, March 25, 2023.
