A man was hospitalised with a head injury after stepping in while a woman was being assaulted at a train station.
The incident took place around 11.37pm on Saturday, April 15, on a platform of Bellshill Railway Station.
The man was seriously assaulted after intervening following an attack on a woman.
He was taken to the hospital but has since been discharged.
British Transport Police officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
The attacker is described as white, with a Scottish accent and has a shaved head with lots of tattoos.
He was wearing dark-coloured clothing, however, removed his top to reveal his bare chest at the time of the attack.
