A PROJECT has been launched to help the planet and young people in Scotland.
In a bid to provide young people with durable sportswear and reduce global pollution, Scottish Sports Futures (SSF) and ApparelXchange CIC (AXC) are appealing for donations of any unwanted sports clothes and footwear to repurpose.
The gathered items will be repaired and recycled and made available to SSF and any other individuals or organisations in need.
All types of sportswear tops, bottoms and footwear are welcome and encouraged, even if damaged.

Jude Reid, head of sustainable business development for Scottish Sports Futures, said: "We’re excited to work with ApparelXchange again to improve access to sportswear for those in our communities who need it the most.
"Sport and physical activity can be such a powerful tool for personal development and projects like this are essential to removing the barriers that stop young people from accessing it.
"It was encouraging to see the amount of donations received last year and I’m looking forward to seeing the community rallying together again this time."
The collaborative project comes after the 'success' of last year’s collection between the two organisations.
Izzie Eriksen, founding director of ApparelXchange, said: "ApparelXchange is delighted to be collaborating with SSF again this year.
"The power of building on both our strengths brings such value to our communities, people and environment in Glasgow and beyond.
"Last year we initiated this campaign and are looking forward to growing it, by reaching more people and organisations who want to make a difference.
"Active clothing and footwear are made of technical and durable materials which means quality remains and reuse rate is high.
"We are appealing to all those who love the outdoors and our planet to donate unwanted kit to our campaign."
