A POPULAR Glasgow dessert place made a major announcement on social media today. 

Cravings Ice Cream and Desserts, which has been branded as the "best dessert place in Glasgow", has stated that it will be changing management starting May 1. 

The shop, which is situated in Cardonald, took to Facebook to announce the 'emotional' news.

It wrote: "Dear customers, after eight and a half years of serving you the time has come for us to pass on our business to its new owners. The main boss Sohaib has been working incredibly hard all these years to make Cravings what it is but it is now time for him to take a break.

"It has been an incredibly difficult and emotional decision, just as it was when we took the plunge to first open or not. We would never in our dreams have imagined Cravings would even be half as successful as what it has been.

"We have many people to thank for this. Firstly our wonderful customers whose loyalty and love over the years has been so heartfelt and at times overwhelming. Secondly our amazing team of employees who are ever so hard working and go above and beyond for Cravings. Thirdly the large team of delivery drivers we have had over the years. You have all become family and we will forever cherish what you have done for Cravings in our hearts.

"We wanted to make sure we passed on the business to the right people. We trust that Faizan and Ahzan, who will be taking over the business, will continue to ensure that the business flourishes for both our staff and customers.

"We would love for you all to drop by and visit us over the next few days. Cravings will be passed on to its new owners on May 1.

"Thank you once again for your continued loyalty and custom."

Fans of the shop took to Facebook to share their well wishes with the business. 

One person wrote: "Best dessert place in Glasgow. A massive well done on creating a successful business from scratch and good luck in your new ventures." 

While another added: "Love this dessert shop and I worked here for a while and the owner was really nice. Good luck on whatever you do next."
