A woman was subject to abuse by a gang of youths onboard a train sparking a police probe.
The woman was travelling on a train between Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Central around 7pm on April 13 when she was approached by the teens.
Between Shotts and Carfin, the group of teenagers made offensive comments towards her.
When she 'challenged' them, one of the teenagers spat at her before leaving the train at Carfin station.
Detectives are now searching for any witnesses following the incident.
The youth is described as white with a slim build and short, light brown hair. He was wearing a black puffer jacket with white Hoodrich logos, a grey zipper with a dark hood and yellow Nike logo, dark jogging bottoms and black and white trainers.
