An East End councillor is hosting his own Coronation lunch for the community.
Councillor Thomas Kerr is inviting residents to come along to enjoy sandwiches, cakes and coffee and tea in Shettleston.
The free event will take place in Shettleston New Church in Annick Street on Saturday, May 6 from 10 am.
Conservative councillor Kerr said: “I am thoroughly looking forward to hosting this Coronation event in my ward on Saturday.
“The Coronation of King Charles is a perfect opportunity for our community in Shettleston to come together and celebrate His Majesty.
“I know that this event will showcase Shettleston’s community spirit at its very best and be fit for a King. Here is hoping that the sun is shining on Saturday.”
Councillor Kerr added: “Everyone is welcome – please bring along your friends, family and neighbours to celebrate this momentous occasion.”
King Charles’s Coronation will take place on Saturday at Westminster Abbey in London.
The ceremony will see the King crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort.
It is due to start at 11am with the King’s procession expected to arrive at Westminster Abbey shortly beforehand.
Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren will represent the city of Glasgow at the Coronation at Westminster Abbey.
