A teacher at a deaf school was cleared of sexually assaulting a woman.

Jamie Clark, 32, was alleged to have groped her at Glasgow city centre's Tropicana nightclub on August 21 2022.

Court papers stated Clark seized the woman by her buttocks and placed his hand there.

Clark also faced two assault charges against employees at the nightclub.

Clark was said to have head butted Dylan Woods as well as attempt to do so.

Steven McFarlane was claimed to have been kicked on the head as well as attempts to head butt him.

Clark faced two further charges of assaulting two police officers.

He was said to have kicked PC Shona Laing on the body and constable Joseph McCormack on the head.

A final charge said that Clark behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence.

Clark, of Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, was due to go on trial on Wednesday.

Prosecutor Leo McGinn requested an adjournment at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He added that the charges against the two employees had been deserted on an earlier occasion.

Andrew Seggie, defending, was against the motion.

He said: "Mr Clark is employed as a teacher in a deaf school.

"Additional qualifications are needed to teach in that school which he has obtained.

"This has not only had an impact on Mr Clark but also on the school as supply teachers are rare.

"He is not permitted to teach in the classroom right now and is working from home doing admin duties.

"This is having a detrimental impact on his employment."

The case was deserted simpliciter by Sheriff Anthony Deutsch.
