A man has been left seriously injured after he was allegedly attacked by a group carrying weapons in Rutherglen last night.
We previously reported that a man had been assaulted on Skye Road at around 9.20pm yesterday.
Police have this evening revealed that a black coloured car was 'deliberately' driven at the 29-year-old before a 'number of people' exited the vehicle and 'attacked' him.
Cops are now appealing for witnesses of the incident as their investigations continue.
Detective Constable Cameron Owen, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “The victim remains in hospital where he is receiving treatment for serious injuries.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area to get in touch. I would also appeal to motorists who have dash-cam footage that may have captured something which could prove vital to our ongoing enquiries to make contact with us.
"If you could help with our enquiries, please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 4032 of Thursday, 18 May, 2023. Alternatively, you can call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous."
