POLICE are investigating after a pensioner died in a car crash last week.
As the Glasgow Times reported at the time, a 79-year-old died after being struck by a car last Wednesday.
He was walking near Glasgow Road in Uddingston when he was hit by a white Audi.
Emergency services attended but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now, officers are appealing for witnesses to help with the investigation.
Road Policing Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
"The B7071 is one of the main routes in and out of Uddingston and is a busy stretch of road so I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.
“I’m also appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who has relevant dash-cam or CCTV footage, to get in touch on 101 quoting incident number 1105 of Wednesday, May 17.”
The driver, a 28-year-old man, was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and released pending further enquiries.
