A TEENAGER is accused of pretending to be a police officer in order to search three people.
Ryan McCormack, 19, allegedly committed the offence in Glasgow city centre on February 5, 2023.
Court papers state McCormack behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards Billy McKend and William Slaven also known as Ashley Slaven.
McCormack is claimed to have falsely told them that he was a member of the British Transport Police.
He is stated to have behaved in an aggressive manner and repeatedly pursued them.
The charge goes on to say that McCormack represented to them that they were "being detained for a search".
McCormack faces a separate charge of impersonating a constable with intent to deceive.
McCormack, of the city's Possilpark, was in the dock on Tuesday to stand trial.
There was a joint motion to adjourn the trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Prosecutor Jacky Wall stated that there was an issue with CCTV of the alleged incident which had been overwritten.
Stephen Dryden, defending, told the hearing that it was "incompetency by the police".
A new trial date has been fixed for July by Sheriff Valerie Mays with a hearing also taking place in June.
McCormack, who is in full time employment, had his attendance excused for the hearing.
