A SEVENTH person is due in court following the death of Neil Canney in Greenock.
We previously reported that the 37-year-old was found seriously injured in Nairn Road around 1.15am on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he died a short time later.
Six men, aged 22, 23, 24, 27, 28 and 38, have already been arrested, charged and appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court.
Now, Police Scotland has confirmed that a seventh man was arrested and charged in connection with the death.
The 25-year-old is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court tomorrow and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
