A popular Glasgow restaurant has announced its shock closure today. 

New York Grill and Cocktail Bar, based inside Princes Square, has announced the departure with 'a heavy heart'.

The restaurant took to Facebook to make the announcement, writing: "NY Grill and Cocktail Bar has now closed.

"Thank you to everyone who visited us over the last nine years.

"We also want to recognise the hard work and dedication of our fantastic staff. Our team members have continuously strived to provide excellent service, delicious food and tempting drinks, and we couldn't have reached this far without their diligence and passion. 💗 #nygrillbar."

Fans of the restaurant have been left 'saddened' by the news.

One commenter wrote: "This is so sad this was a beautiful Restaurant with great staff and food. Wishing you all the best of luck xxxxxx" 

While another added: "Sad news, have had many good times in here. Food was always great and cocktails were fantastic."
