IT is looking to be a summer of love for Glasgow residents as Channel 4 dating show looks to showcase Scottish romance.

The popular dating show – First Dates – is going into its 16th series and is looking for Scottish representation to celebrate a decade on TV.

The programme sees people looking for love go on a blind date which has been set up by the team at First Dates and is hosted by Fred Siriex. The aim of the show is to pair people up with someone that they’ve never met before and see if that special, click, appears or not.

At the end of the date, the couples are quizzed about their time together and if they would go on another date with one another.

And now Glaswegians will have the chance to show that they are the true city of love with the show making the dramatic change in 2020 as they moved from its usual Paternoster Chop House restaurant in Paternoster Square, London where they have featured since 2013 to The refinery, Spinningfields in Manchester.

With the casting team on the lookout for as many single people looking for love as possible, they are in particular looking to have Scottish lovers make the trip down to Manchester and feature on the show.

Applications are now open and to apply all you need is two things. Single and ready for love.
