A teenager was rushed to hospital and a further two were injured after an attack in East Dunbartonshire.

Police were called to a disturbance on Kirkintilloch Road, near Villafield Drive in Bishopbriggs, around 7.35pm on Saturday.

An 18-year-old was seriously assaulted and was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Hospital staff describe his condition is described as serious but stable.

Another two, aged 18 and 17, were assaulted and sustained minor injuries.

Detective constable Vikki Reid said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of this attack and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in this area at the time and may have witnessed this incident.

“Anyone who was walking or driving in the area around the time of the incident is asked to get in touch.

"In addition, we are also keen to speak to anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage at the time.”
