STILL Game's Jack and Victor will visit a Glasgow shop.
Greg Hemphill and Ford Kiernan are making an appearance at Glasgow’s Crown Street Co-op in the Gorbals, on Sunday, June 11.
The duo will be at the store between 12pm and 3pm, to meet with fans and sign bottles of Jack & Victor Blended Scotch Whisky and Still Gin in time for Father’s Day the following week.
This comes after American whiskey producer Jack Daniels took issue with the pair's application to register the brand name as a trademark, saying the name was too similar to its own and that consumers could get confused between the two.
However, after a hearing where Still Game co-creator and Jack & Victor co-founder Greg Hemphill gave evidence that showed how synonymous the brand name was with the show, the UK Intellectual Property Office ruled in the Scottish brand’s favour.
Greg said: “We’re chuffed the UKIPO was on our side with this, Jack & Victor are well-kent in Scotland and we knew no one would get confused between our bottles.
"Just call us the Craiglang Davids taking on Goliath!”
Ford said: “Not many are as lucky as we are to have such loyal fans and, whether Jack & Victor are on your TV screens or your kitchen shelf, us Scots know the difference between Holyrood and Hollywood!”
