A prisoner has died in Glasgow's Barlinnie prison.
The Scottish Prison Service revealed this week that 69-year-old James Bradie died in the East End prison.
He was convicted at Glasgow High Court three years ago in 2020. The Scottish Prison Service however said he died on May 31.
The Scottish Prison Service said that Police Scotland has been advised and the matter was reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
They added that a Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course.
A spokesperson said: "James Bradie, 69, a prisoner at HMP Barlinnie has died on 31 May, 2023.
"He was convicted at Glasgow High Court in 2020. Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
"A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course."
