TRNSMT organisers promised "as little disruption as possible" as measures to keep order around the event were announced.

Officials announced their plan to ensure residents will be undisturbed, following meetings with nearby community councils.

In previous years, members raised concerns about littering, public urination and vandalism but added that they are hopeful there will be no similar issues.

One group said they were promised additional staff to keep peace and order during the long weekend.

A spokesperson from Trongate and Merchant City Community Council (MCTCC) said: “We warmly welcome events such as TRNSMT which attract thousands of people to our UNESCO City of Music

“However, we trust the event will not lead to anti-social behaviour by festival goers and are looking to event organisers, stewards and police to make sure this doesn’t happen.

“MCTCC appreciates the community engagement sessions which organisers have held and made our views known at these.

"One of the results has been an assurance that extra stewards will be stationed at a location where serious anti-social behaviour, including urinating in a common stairwell, took place in 2022.

“The past couple of years have seen a gratifying improvement in festival goers’ respect for local residents and businesses and we trust this continues.

"We are sure they will enjoy the wonderful range of music on the TRNSMT programme and urge them to do so without causing property damage and inconvenience and distress to those living and working in the area.”

This comes after residents were given a leaflet with information about road closures in the area.

A spokesperson from organiser DF Concerts, said: “DF Concerts and Events enjoys a good relationship with the communities surrounding Glasgow Green.

"We regularly speak to local community councils when running events such as TRNSMT to reassure them that we aim to have as little impact on the local area as possible.

“In the lead-up to the event and across the weekend, we’ll be working closely with community councils, Glasgow City Council and the police.

"We also have a local resident phone line that’s open to report any concerns, allowing our community liaison teams to respond as quickly as possible plus a real-time email alert system to share any new updates to the local community.”
