A social care charity celebrated its 25th birthday this weekend with a special festival in Glasgow.

Carr Gomm, a national social care charity, has been providing mental health support to people in their homes and communities since setting up in East Lothian in 1998.

The charity began operating in Glasgow in 2003 and now supports over 1200 people and employs 143 staff across the city.

To celebrate decades of enabling people to live their best lives through activity groups, walking, fishing and games in the south of Glasgow, the charity threw a birthday festival on Friday, June 16.

People Carr Gomm supports and staff from across Glasgow came together with friends, family, the charity’s supporters and others from across Scotland for the event which was hosted by Britain’s Got Talent star, Edward Reid.

The special day saw a silent disco, therapets, carnival games, food trucks and live performances with the charity's 'A Carr Gomm’s Got Talent session', where people sang their favourite pop hits and gave their own poetry readings.

Chief executive of Carr Gomm, Lucy Wren, said: "The festival has been an amazing opportunity to celebrate together the last 25 years of Carr Gomm.

"Every day our amazing staff support people who have a wide range of reasons for needing some help, to have safe and fulfilled lives.

"I am incredibly proud of the work we do changing people's lives, and the Festival has been an amazing way to thank everyone for their hard work and commitment to changing lives."
