A man has been arrested after a major incident in the East End.
Officers swarmed Tollcross Park on Thursday evening with locals reporting a police helicopter hovering over the area following reports of 'concern for a person'.
A 56-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
It is understood specialist armed officers attended the incident as a precaution.
The force assured there was "no wider risk to the public" despite alarm raised in the area due to the major police presence.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023, police received a report of concern for a man at Tollcross Park in Glasgow.
"Officers attended and a 56-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
"There was no risk to the wider public.”
