Emergency services were called to a flat in Glenisla Street in the city's Tollcross at around 5.05pm on Sunday, June 25 where a man was found injured.
The 50-year-old, who has now been named as Stuart Williams, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem has since been carried out and specialist teams are treating his death as suspicious.
Mr Williams' next of kin have been made aware.
A 51-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with his death, and officers have assured that they are treating Mr Williams' death as an isolated incident.
While an arrest has been made, investigations will continue in the Tollcross area with a large police presence in place.
Detective Chief Inspector Graham McCreadie said: “Extensive enquiries have been ongoing since the deceased was discovered on Sunday, and I want to reassure the community that we are treating this as an isolated incident.
“You will see a significant police presence in the area whilst we carry out investigations.
“Officers will be carrying out door-to-door enquiries and gathering CCTV and dash-cam footage which could provide the inquiry team with additional information."
DCI McCreadie added: “Anyone with any concerns can approach officers at any time.
“Although an arrest has been made, we are still carrying out significant enquiries and I would urge anyone with information on this incident to contact us as soon as possible.
“Any witnesses, or anyone who holds any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, should get in touch with us.”
