A Glasgow business closed after trading for 70 years.
William Lang Shoe Repairs stopped reading today, after seven decades in Shawlands.
The Southside shop owner decided to retire, after repairing shoes and bags for over 50 years.
Stewart McDonald, SNP MP for Glasgow South, bid farewell to the repairman in a Fcebook post.
He said: "Today is the final day of trading for William Lang Shoe Repairs after over 70 years of operation.
"Michael Lang, who took over his father’s business, has been repairing shoes for over 50 years and has now taken the decision to retire.
"Although this is a huge loss for the Shawlands community, I would like to wish Michael and his family all the best for the future."
Residents in the comments were devastated.
One person said: "He's been a cornerstone of the Shawlands trading community."
Another said: "Another talent leaving the industry. Good luck and enjoy your retirement."
