A Two Doors Down star has opened up about starring in the new Barbie film.
Sharon Rooney will be playing 'Lawyer Barbie' alongside a star-studded cast of Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Dua Lipa and Will Ferrell to name a few.
But many Glaswegians will recognise Rooney for her role as Sophie in the BBC sitcom, which also stars Arabella Weir, Alex Norton and Elaine C Smith.
Ahead of the film's release on July 21, the 34-year-old revealed her hopes for the future as inspired by working on the project with Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig.
Speaking to Rollacoasta magazine, Rooney, from Glasgow, said: “I think, what Barbie’s taught me is that you can do anything and be everything because she’s a woman who – literally – does everything.
"I’d really love to write something of my own. I see how clever Greta is and how wonderful she is and such an amazing actress, but she also is a phenomenal director.
"And Margot [Robbie] as well, she's an outrageously brilliant actress, but she's also got a fantastic production company.
"Barbie’s been a brilliant job to be surrounded by people like that who are working so hard but are all just really good people.
"In summary, Barbie’s taught me a lot about just going for it and believing.”
Before appearing in Two Doors Down, Rooney was also the star of My Mad Fat Diary. In 2019 she appeared in the live-action remake of Dumbo.
