TRNSMT bosses have issued a warning to festival goers ahead of this weekend.

The three-day music event returns to Glasgow Green on Friday and thousands are expected to turn up to see artists such as Pulp, Sam Fender and Kasabian.

But visitors are being warned that they must bring a valid form of photographic ID and if the image in the ID does not resemble them, they will be refused entry.

The event is strictly for those over 16, and only those over 18 can wait in bar queues.

A challenge 25 policy will be in place across the festival, where guests will be asked to show ID if they look under 25.

Photocopies of IDs will not be accepted, and it is a criminal offence to use false or borrowed IDs to gain entry to TRNSMT.

IDs will be subject to further security checks and TRNSMT staff reserve the right of refusal on the basis that you don’t resemble your ID or if they cannot verify that your ID is valid.

A spokesperson said: "If we cannot easily and quickly validate a facial match between you and your ID, you will be directed out of the customer queues into an alternative process which could cause you a delay.

"We will be working with Police Scotland and other partners to ensure this process is as robust as possible and fake ID will be confiscated and passed to the authorities."
