Sam Fender marked his headling debut at TRNSMT by covering a song by Scottish band Frightened Rabbit.
The Geordie rocker invited his guitar tech on stage, telling the audience that he was Scottish, to duet on The Modern Leper.
The moment was a highlight during Fender's set which kicked off Will We Talk? as the singer screamed, “ F***g c’mon on Glasgow.
Appearing disoriented in parts of the show, humble Fender told the crowd that he couldn't quite take in the fact he was headlining and performing after Kasabian.
He said: "It's the most bizarre experience headlining anything to be honest.
"We have got severe imposter syndrome to the max that we are standing up here going what the f**k is going on.
"We f*****g grew up with like two f*****g Kasabian albums, them first two. It's just f**king bizarre and I've just cuddled Serge and was like what's going on.
"It's f*****g stupid. Thank you so much you are all a bunch of legends."
Earlier the crowd were sent into a frenzy with Getting Started while The Dying Light just sounded beautiful.
Fender's voice was in top form, distinctive and he breezed through some of his biggest hits including Spit of You, Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under.
The perfect headliner, Fender was chatty throughout and turned up the festival volume with his rock-fuelled pop.
Grateful for the position he found himself in as headliner he said: "This is a really weird experience.
“We have played every stage on this festival from when we started.
“We have been every year since it started, it’s really surreal so thanks so much for coming along.”
