STOCKINGFIELD Bridge in Glasgow has won a prestigious award.
The structure, which officially opened last December, connects Ruchill, Maryhill and Gilshochill over the Clyde and Forth Canal.
At the 2023 Construction News Awards, it wowed judges and won the Project of the Year (Under £20 million) category.
A spokesperson said: "This project demonstrated excellence across the whole construction process from the client, design, construction and handover, to realise the vision of a connected community.
"HSE was a priority with exemplar systems of delivery including engagement with local groups such as the Wise Women network and delivered excellence in social values.
"It adopted innovative measures from construction, community engagement, use of art to enhance design, reduce costs.
"It used MMC [Modern Methods of Construction] in structural engineering to deliver a lasting legacy for the construction industry. The project is more than just a bridge, it's a generous and ambitious project which improves people's lives."
