A pensioner has died following a fire in Glasgow.
Emergency services raced to Annandale Street in the city's Govanhill on Sunday afternoon after receiving a report of a fire within a property.
An 83-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops and fire crews investigated the incident and determined that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.40pm on Sunday, July 16, 2023, we were called to a report of a fire at a property on Annandale Street, Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.
"An 83-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A joint investigation was carried out with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the fire is not suspicious.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
