Terrified residents told of their experience as a Glasgow flat was evacuated after a "fire".
As the Glasgow Times reported earlier today, Bathgate Street in the East End has been taped off as emergency services are currently on the scene.
People in the building have been evacuated.
Nathanial peter, 24, who lives in the area, said: “We could smell something but didn’t know what it was.
“It wasn’t until our flatmate told us what happened after checking if it was his car, we grabbed our essentials and left.
"On the way down, we knocked on the doors to let them know what was happening.
“Not many people were in as I think they were at work, but still quite scary.”
Findlay Lennie, 24, added: “Yes, it was scary. I managed to grab what we needed like keys, wallet and that.
"It’s not until you’re in a moment like that you know what to do."
