Firefighters have led tributes after an OAP tragically died in a blaze in Glasgow's Southside on Sunday.
999 crews raced to the fire on Annandale Street in Govanhill, where an 83-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
They tackled the fire on the ground floor of a four-storey tenement building.
Now, the Scottish Fire and Rescue have said their thoughts are with the pensioner's 'family, friends and the wider community'.
David Murdoch, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s local senior officer for the City of Glasgow, said: "We were alerted at 5.14pm on Sunday, July 16, to reports of an alarm actuating from a property on Annandale Street, Glasgow.
"Operations control mobilised three fire appliances to the area and firefighters extinguished the fire affecting a ground floor flat of a four-storey tenement building.
"Sadly, an 83-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Our thoughts are very much with her family, friends and the wider community at this difficult time."
Mr Murdoch also confirmed that following a joint investigation with Police Scotland, the fire is being treated as non-suspicious.
He added: "A joint investigation alongside Police Scotland was carried out and the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
While a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.40pm on Sunday, July 16, 2023, we were called to a report of a fire at a property on Annandale Street, Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.
"An 83-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A joint investigation was carried out with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the fire is not suspicious.
"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 17.45pm on July 16 to attend an incident at Annandale Street, Glasgow.
"One ambulance was dispatched to the scene."
