A child is in hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow.
The eight-year-old boy was struck on Garrioch Road in the city's Maryhill shortly after midday on Monday.
Cops and paramedics were called to the scene where it is understood the road was closed following the incident.
The boy was rushed to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the car was not injured.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.05 pm on Monday, July 17, 2023, police received a report of a crash involving a car and an 8-year-old male pedestrian on Garrioch Road near Stratford Street, Glasgow.
“The boy was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, where medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
"The driver of the car was not injured.
"The road is now open."
