A teenager has been arrested following an 'attack' near a supermarket.
The alleged incident occurred in the Palace Grounds area of Hamilton on Sunday afternoon.
We previously reported that cops had taped off the area near Asda and the Vue cinema to carry out investigations.
The force has since revealed that they have arrested and charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with an alleged assault.
He is expected to appear in court next month.
Cops are continuing to investigate what happened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.50pm on Sunday, July 16, 2023, we were called to a report of an assault in the Palace Grounds Road area of Hamilton.
“A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. A report will be sent to the relevant authorities.
“Further enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
