Art lovers have just weeks left to visit one of Glasgow's most famous paintings before it leaves the city.
Salvador Dalí's Christ of St John of The Cross is considered to be one of the country's most treasured paintings and it has been in Glasgow since 1952.
Now the work of art, which is valued at more than £60 million, is being removed from its home in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
It will be loaned to The Dalí Theatre and Museum in Dalí’s home town of Figueres in Spain for five months.
While the painting is not being displayed in Figueres until November, it is being taken off display after August 9.
People in Glasgow will not be able to see the painting again until June of next year.
A spokesperson for Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum said: "The work will be the centrepiece of a major exhibition at the Dali Theatre-Museum in Figueres, opening on 1 November. Part of the museum, Galatea Tower, is the artist’s former home.
"The painting hasn’t been seen in Spain since 1952, when it was shown in Madrid and Barcelona, shortly before being acquired for Glasgow and coming to Kelvingrove.
"The loan to Figueres is an important opportunity for Glasgow Life Museums to be part of a significant exhibition exploring the work of Dali and the creative process behind this iconic painting.
"We hope you can drop by to see it in the next few weeks before it comes off display.
"The painting will be back in Kelvingrove in June 2024."
A spokesperson for The Dalí Theatre and Museum previously told our sister title The Herald: “We are very excited to receive this iconic work.
"It will be at the Teatro-Museo Dalí in Figueres (Dalí's hometown) from November 2023 until the end of April 2024.”
