A RACIST thug who attacked restaurant staff after making vile comments towards them was jailed today for 16 months.
Mark Voghouey, 35, lashed out at Meat Meet in Glasgow city centre on January 6, 2023.
Voghouey put Reza Tavosi and Sara Nazari in a state of fear and alarm.
He then went on to punch Mr Tavosi before throwing a stool at Miss Nazari.
Voghouey then assaulted police officers and made statements such as "Allahu Akbar" and that he was a member of ISIS.
Voghouey has a previous stint behind bars after he was racially abusive to staff at a Subway restaurant in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire, in November 2021.
Voghouey pled guilty to his latest set of charges which includes five assaults.
He also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner which was racially aggravated and aggravated by religious prejudice.
The court heard that Voghouey approached the two employees and became abusive towards them.
Mr Tavosi and Miss Nazari believed the remarks were "racially motivated."
This included stating: "I know you're from Iran, I know you're kaffir."

Prosecutor Hannah Sweeney said: "Voghouey punched Mr Tavosi to the neck, causing him to have a red mark.
"He thereafter picked up a stool from the restaurant and flung it over the counter to Miss Nazari and struck her to the head.
"She suffered swelling and redness."
Voghouey was arrested at the shop two days later when he returned.
He kicked two officers on the body and dug his fingers into a female constable's hand, causing the skin to break.
Voghouey went on to spit at sergeant Alison McGovern with the saliva landing on her hat.
Voghouey later shouted "Allahu Akbar", stated that an officer's mum was a "f***ing jew" and that he was "in ISIS."
Fortunately, all of Voghouey's victims escaped without any need for medical attention.
Ann McKinley, defending, told the court: "He feels when he is in a hole, he keeps digging and that's why he was saying these things to the police."
