A new deacon has been ordained this weekend for service in Glasgow.
The Archdiocese of Glasgow announced yesterday the ordination of reverend Elvis Arrey Etta.
The service was held at St Lucy's Church in Cumbernauld by celebrant archbishop William Nolan.
On Facebook, the archdiocese said: "Glasgow has a new Deacon!
"Blessings to reverend Elvis Arrey Etta ordained today at St Lucy’s.
"May Deacon Elvis have a long and fruitful ministry."
People were quick to congratulate the new deacon in the comments.
One person said: "What a beautiful mass, so uplifting. Congratulations to Elvis and his family."
Another added: "Congratulations deacon Elvis. I am wishing you well as you begin this new journey in the Lord's vineyard. May your ministry be blessed."
