An animal charity is seeking a 'forever family' for a kitten who was found at the bottom of a pit.
The Scottish SPCA came to the rescue of CJ when he was found trapped at the bottom of a walled pit near sheltered accommodation in Hamilton.
Animal rescue officer Aidan was alerted to the situation by a member of the public, who heard CJ meowing for help but couldn't reach him.
The kitten was saved when he managed to grab onto some netting which Aidan used to pull him out of the pit.
Despite being quite scruffy and skinny when he was found, CJ is doing well and is currently being housed at the charity's centre in Hamilton.
A spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, no one came forward to claim him and he is presently looking for a forever family to take him home.
"We have lots of cats in our care, and every single one would be thrilled to be given a second chance."
