A PERVERT was caught with 72 indecent images of children on his mobile phone.

Jordan McGinlay's home in Glasgow's Maryhill was raided by police on October 18, 2021.

Officers recovered a Samsung mobile phone which was attributed to the 27-year-old.

A full cybercrime examination was later carried out on the phone.

Prosecutor Darren Harty told Glasgow Sheriff Court: "There were 53 still images of child sexual exploitation.

"The children were aged between eight and 16.

"There were 19 moving images."

McGinlay pled guilty Thursday (August 10) to possession of indecent images of children.

He also admitted taking or permitting to be taken indecent images of children.

Paul McCormick, defending, told the court that McGinlay is being supported by a learning disability team.

Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Iain Fleming.

McGinlay was put on the sex offenders register and granted bail meantime.
