An ex-Celtic star has tied the knot with his fiancee after a 20-year engagement.
Kris Commons and his partner Lisa Hague married in a small ceremony over the weekend on an 'amazing' day full of memories.
Kris' former boss Neil Lennon attended as a witness while Pop Idol star Michelle McManus performed for the couple and their guests.
Revealing details about the special day, Lisa told the Sun: “We had the most amazing day and night together.
“After being engaged for 22 years, it’s nice our kids will always remember this day.
“Our wedding was small and since Michelle McManus was coming along as a guest, she said ‘I take it you have a band?’
“I said I wasn’t willing to spend thousands of the wedding budget and so Michelle said she was coming with her iPad and microphone to get the party started."
Lisa's dress was gifted by Glasgow-based boutique Anne Priscilla Bridal, and the couple's three children April, 13, William, 11 and 10-year-old Jax gave their own speeches.
The couple also made sure their baby daughter Lola - who was sadly stillborn - was involved in the ceremony.
Lisa walked down the aisle to Wild Child by Enya, which was played at Lola’s funeral.
She said: “Only me and Kris attended her funeral.
“He didn’t know I’d walk down the aisle to that and everybody would have just thought it’s a nice song.
“But Kris knew what it meant and it’s nice to say that Lola was involved in the wedding too.
“I knew Kris would say it’s because I worried he wasn’t going to cry when he saw me.
“But I’ll get a tear out of that boy.”
We previously reported that the couple wanted to have a modest ceremony and donate what they would have spent on a lavish wedding to charity in support of bereaved families who, like Kris and Lisa, have suffered a stillbirth.
Lisa said: “We’ve been together so long and when you work hard for the last 10 years to raise money for charity, to blow so much on one day sounded crazy to us.
“You can get carried away and you do always hear people say they wish they had a smaller wedding.
“This isn’t the biggest day of our lives, we’ve been through so much and we were really excited.
“People kept asking if we were nervous. But for what?
“We walked down the aisle, said ‘I do’, ate cake and had a laugh.”
The newlyweds plan to spend their honeymoon in Greece next week with friends, and they will also celebrate Kris’ 40th birthday.
